Multi-Instrumentalist, Jordan Lynch, started his career as a percussionist playing many different forms of hand drums, frame drums, drum-set, and mallet percussion. He completed a degree in Jazz Studies from Capital University in 2002 with an emphasis in world music. Since then he has expanded his instrumental interests into accordion, piano, guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, bass, harmonica, and pennywhistle.
He has performed with several bands/artists in the Columbus, OH area including The Shrunken Heads, Tom Beardslee Band, McCloud and Company, Quanah Parker, David Martinez, Shaun Booker, and the Welfare Gypsies.
Jordan has been serving as a musician with the 338th Army Reserve Band out of Whitehall, OH since 2001 and works full-time as the band's administrator, fulfilling roles of human resource specialist, logistics, supply, and operations/coordination.
He began performing as a solo artist in 2012 on guitar/mandolin/banjo and vocals doing a variety of cover tunes from bluegrass, old-time, and folk to classic rock and country. Jordan appears at Farmer's Markets around the Columbus, OH area as a one-man band with guitar, banjo, harmonicas, and foot-controlled suitcase or backpack bass drum and trash can snare drum. Jordan also does summer porch concerts with special guests at his home in Bexley, OH.
In 2018 Jordan got together with a bunch of his friends and musicians he has played with over the years to record "Pieces," his solo album of children's music covers. Sales of "Pieces" raised money and awareness for the Music Therapy program at Bridgeway Academy, a school for children on the autism spectrum.
In 2021 Jordan recorded an EP dedicated to his love of the old time banjo, "Wild Goose Chase." The album features the 5-string banjo and gourd banjo and was recorded 100% remotely with artists around the country.
